Gifts From Up Above
Gifts From Up Above

There are everday gifts
Sent from God, for you and me
That sometimes, we never stop to look at
Or truly ever see
Like the flower blooming in winter
Or the flight of the honking geese
The opening of a single bud
On a vine that's all but dried
Or the tears of joy you sometimes shed
As you hear a newborn cry
The swan that glides upon the water
Within her own reflection
Seeing her not once... but twice
In God's love of pure perfection
The rain that comes and nourishes the earth
Making everything smell brand new
To the morning that you awake
With roses in sparkling dew
Or the friend you missed so very much
As they give a warm embrace
To the wind that delicately blows you cool
Upon the glistening sweat of your face
Majestic waves upon the beach
As the salt touches your lips
Or your grandparents hand you can lovingly hold
Listening to memories of purest gold
To the colors of the hummingbird
That dance for natures sweets
To the times you can take a relaxing walk
Down a leaf strewn street
Listen to the gentle whispers
That make you stop and take notice
All of these God gives to us
There is no cost, they are all free
Only if we open our eyes,
Our hearts and our arms
To embrace them all with love
Being ever so Thankful
For these gifts from up above
