I once had a lonely heart
This... no one knew
Then I got down on my knees
I said a prayer so true
"Dear Heavenly Father,
Please fill my aching heart with peace
Take away this pain, it never seems to cease"
Then I started to see
A glimmer, Oh so bright
I heard a voice within my heart
It said, "My Child, embrace the light
It will warm your heart
Your soul and your mind
Then eternal peace, your daily life will find
My light will help you see the way
Through all your darkest hours
In the storms that sometimes rage
You will see as merely showers"
I've embraced His shinning light of love
This light will never burn out
So if you happen to see me
Upon a busy street
You might just see a twinkle in my eyes
A light that is so sweet!
