Conversations With My Soul

Conversations With My Soul

Sometimes in the quiet…
Where no words… need to be spoken
When I’m sitting here all alone
I often reflect upon my daily choices
Having conversations with my soul

In that peacefulness of serenity’s touch…
I find so sweet and mild
I share my prayers with the Lord…
There I hear Him gently say,
“I love you, too… My precious child”

Some years ago… I walked in the darkness
I never knelt or even prayed
Not thanking the Lord for each moment
Or for the blessings… He sent my way

Yet, He stood there right beside me
In the path that I had chose…
Of my selfish, sinners’ shame
Then one bless filled night… I saw the light
I called my Saviors name

With hands stretched out across the skies… tonight
I send my praises… to Him above
For my heart can clearly see…now
The reflection of His love

Upon my days... when I arise
Should Satan come knocking at my door
I will not open it to the pain and agony
Like I did… so many times before

Whether my days are good or bad
Should I feel self-doubts stinging tears...
I now know it is my Lord and Savior… who comforts me
Holding me so near

These are the days of my wonderful life
As I now have conversations with my soul
Where He graciously guides me onward…
To my someday… Heavenly Home
