The Greatest Artist
|
|
As I sit beneath the old oak tree
Watching the tall grass as it sways
In perfect but silent harmony
I bow my head to pray
I thank God for this moment, the tranquility, so serene
He is the greatest artist my eyes have ever seen
From the valleys painted with splendor
With His brush He creates each spring
To water colored rainbows,
The blue that storms may bring
To the red, yellow and gold
That embrace us in the fall
To the purest snow white flakes
When winter time does call
He is the greatest artist my eyes have ever seen
As He ever so gently sculptured, the child that grew in me
From the perfect tiny toes, to the delicate little hands
The beautiful eyes with innocent face
My heart thinks so grand
He is the greatest artist my eyes have ever seen
For the earth and we are His canvas
In an array of colors galore
From the snow kissed mountain tops
To the people on glittering shores
He is the greatest artist, my soul will ever behold
In spirit I will be inspired once again
When I can walk the streets of gold
