I received an e-mail this wonderful day
From a precious friend who lives so far away
And when I read the words she wrote to me
They touched my heart… in a wonderful way
For some people come into our lives
Just merely… passing us by
While others touch our hearts and stay…
No matter to the many miles
And with us they always sweetly share…
Their laughter, tears and smiles
Always bringing the rainbows… to our sometimes gloomy days
Yet somehow, they make our lives much sweeter
As we call them, “My Dear Friend”
Through a poem or written letter
That they always graciously, take the time to send
You, My Friend, are that special someone... to me
Who often brings a smile to my heart
When I’m feeling sad or a little down
As your words are the remedy
That turns my frown around
So when I look through my e-mail
And I see your lovely name
It always makes me extra happy
And for you, My Dear Friend…
I hope mine always does the same
