Where Did All The Years Go?
Where Did All The Years Go?

They come in little packages
With their amazing little eyes
Some are planned way ahead
Some come as a big…surprise!
Some are bald, some have hair
With lots of love to always share
Little hands and tiny toes
With cutest little button nose
The world is ever turning
As winds are gratefully blowing
And then you see the plus sign
Soon theres diapers... on the clothes line
Running here and running there
Filling bottles and burping baby
Rocking them all through the night
Singing songs to your hearts delight
Pretty soon their walking
Babbling in their joy to share
Child proofing the house
Locks, placed everywhere
Now it’s the first day of kindergarten
Going off to learn their colors
Where did my baby go?
A crying mother wonders
Elementary passes by quickly
And so does middle school
Now it’s junior high
Sports is now their main thing
Counting the minutes… until the last bell rings
Now its off to high school
Ordering the ring for graduation
Sending out invitations, to every one you know
Asking to borrowing your brand new car
He says, "My date doesn’t live that far"
Watching him drive off…
On down the dusty road
Listening to the blaring
Of that high price stereo
Very proud but somewhat…
Saddened and confused
You start to mumble to yourself
Because you really want to know…
“Where, Oh where... did all those precious years go?”
