Did I say, “ I love you”, today?
As I passed you in the hall
Did I say I was so proud of you?
And how your growing so tall!”

Did I smile and receive the same?
As around the corner you would peek
Did I embrace you ever so close?
As I kissed you on the cheek

Did I tell you how happy I was?
Of the young man, you have become?
Did I gaze upon your sweet face?
And hold you, just because

Did I kneel with you?
To say your bedtime prayers
Because Jesus up above, as I
Love you and we care

Did I ever tell you?
That your are, such a precious gift
And how many times your beautiful smile
Gave my heart a wonderful lift

Did I ever tell you?
You share a piece of my heart
And when you ache or feel life’s pain
I hurt too, yet… my love remains
