Remembering My Mamas Smile
Remembering My Mamas Smile
![]() |
Once she was… a little girl
With eyes that sparkled like the glistening stars
That held the satin… of the morning’s sunshine
In the shimmer… of her light brown curls
Who skipped along…
The dusty roads
Singing the sweetest songs…
A child… could ever hold
To have known her then…
I close my eyes… dreaming for a while
In those sweet dreams... I can see her so vividly
My heart can’t help… but smile
As I look at the picture
Remembering my Mama's smile
And how she held a heart of gold
Realizing how much I've missed her...
And how I loved her so!
Some where in my memories background
I can hear her laughter... so sweetly once again
Knowing I was so blessed...
For she wasn't just my mother...
She was my dearest friend
Many years… from now… I pray
That my own child…will do the same
Taking time to look upon the little girl...
Once known as his, Mama
And in his fondest of memories and love
Will gently touch the picture
As he too... sweetly whispers my name
