As I Lean Upon Your Love

I got down upon my knees this morning,
Feeling so unworthy and ashamed
For I had not called upon my Savior
Or even whispered… His name

I have been walking in the shadows…
for way too long
Wading through all my doubts and pain
No reason could I find to laugh or smile
The tears and anger… would not wane

I asked the Lord to show me how
To forgive those...
that trespassed against me
So I could remove this hurt
from my heart
Delivering me from this evil

Clasping my hands together…
I fell to my knees
Closing my eyes this early morn
There I could see Him
upon that cross again
As I watched the blood drip…
from beneath the nails and thorns

I cried like a baby…
for each drop flooded my heart
With an overwhelming love…
like no other
I felt my soul touched...
by forgiving and healing grace
All I ever needed to do…
Was simply… call upon the Father

This journey… throughout my life
The Lord and I have always
shared together
Adding those moments…
when I strayed
I know in my heart He never ceased…
His walk beside me
Even in my darkest days

So today Dear Lord…
as I forgive those that hurt me so
I ask for your forgiveness, too
As I lean upon Your love
I know you died for my sins…
upon that cross
Now the rest of my life...
will be lived… to honor You

I have held some anger for a long time in regards to someone I loved very much and trusted. That anger only held me back in the shadows and not in that true light of the Lord. I became tired of feeling this way, because it was pulling me down. No person is worth this kind of anger it only hurts you spiritually. Through the forgiveness the Lord showed me, and the forgiveness that I have also shown I am now walking in the light of love once again and it is an amazing feeling. D, I forgive you and I love you very much. I pray for only happiness and love to fill all the days of your life.
