Standing There Once More

Sometimes in the early morning
Before the sun has ever shown
I walk out to my little porch
Though to another’s eyes
It may seem as if… I’m standing all alone
Yet, it is not so…
My friend
For in those moments…
It is there… that I greet Him
Watching the sun… slowly rise
We stand together... Just He and I
As I witness the power of His love
In the watercolor paintings
He places…high on yonder skies
I know that when I’m here
In this peaceful place I call my own
The one my heart yearns for
The sun will shine upon me…once more
Warming me with a light…
That touches my very soul
More brighter and more beautiful…
Than it was… the day before
Giving all my praises
For the blessings sent my way
You see…I know the Lord is with me
At the start of every day
When day comes to a quiet end
I walk out to my porch… again
There I’ll gaze upon all the Heavenly stars
As they seem… to sparkle just for me
In that peaceful solitude… I still seek
I find myself… standing there once more
Embracing the love and guidance
Of the One my heart adores
